Abstract
The general goal of this research is to examine the differences between girls who train basketball and those who do not play sports in the expression of attitudes and values. It is evident that playing sports has multiple effects on people, starting from the earliest childhood, which is characteristic for both boys and girls. They showed that affirmative attitudes towards sports, teamwork and communication skills, acceptance of obligations and self-control are more developed in those children who play sports. Compared to children who are inactive in terms of sports. Accordingly, a survey was conducted on a sample of 100 girls, out of which 50 girls play basketball, while 50 make up the control group. The results of the research showed that girls who train basketball, compared to girls who do not play sports, believe that playing sports is important for health and that sports are an ideal way to spend free time. Also, the results showed that girls who train basketball at the same time believe that the sport is useful for their fitness, it is easier to communicate with others and they prefer workong in a group to working alone. The results of the analysis can have double application. From a scientific point of view, a limited number of studies in this field should be kept in mind, which improves the existing scientific knowledge. In practical terms, the results can be useful to coaches, sports psychologists and sociologists in terms of understanding the effects that playing basketball can have on the proper development of values.
