Special issue overview
This special issue invites high-quality contributions that advance the assessment of performance in sport and physical activity through rigorous methodological frameworks and practical, field-relevant applications. We welcome studies that refine measurement protocols, improve validity and reliability of assessment tools, and translate evidence into actionable insights for coaching, training, teaching, and health-oriented physical activity programs.
Aims and scope
Sports diagnostics, in its broadest form, is an integral part of the training, talent identification, injury prevention and rehabilitation process in modern sport. Additionally, measurement and evaluation of physical abilities are of great significance for general health and daily functional movement. This Special Issue aims to collect papers from the field of performance assessment in sports and physical activity in general, with emphasis on its methodical and practical aspects. This comprehensive approach will contribute to identifying strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement in the performance assessment process, leading to the development of training processes and individual program guiding, and ultimately influence the improvement in physical abilities manifestation, general health, children’s growth and development and movement in general. To gather further insights, we welcome articles addressing the following themes:
- Muscle strength and power assessment in athletes,
