    Call for Papers for the Special Issue 2025: “Recreational Sports and Lifestyle: Sport as a Way of Life” Editors: Andrijana Kos Karavan, PhD and Tomislav Hublin, PhD.
    Dear Colleagues, dear researchers,
    We are delighted to inform you that we are currently accepting submissions for Thematic Issue on “Recreational Sports and Lifestyle: Sport as a Way of Life” in Sport, Media and Business Journal (SMB). More on: www.smb.edu.rs
    This Thematic issue aims to explore the role of recreational sports in promoting a healthy and active lifestyle. It seeks contributions on topics such as innovative training methods, technological advancements, injury prevention, early development of sports habits, and the management and organization of recreational sports programs.
    The issue also focuses on the impact of media in shaping the image of recreational sports, fostering inclusivity, and building global communities. Empirical studies, case analyses, and systematic reviews addressing accessibility, inclusivity, and the integration of sports into daily life are especially welcome. This issue aims to provide insights for professionals, policymakers, and community leaders to support the integration of sports into everyday life for improved personal and social well-being.

    Tentative Topics
    The major focus should be on (but is not limited to) the following issues:
    •    Adapting training methods for recreational athletes 
    •    Psychological preparation in sport as a daily activity
    •    Technological advances in individual training 
    •    Injury prevention in an active lifestyle 
    •    Quality of life of athletes after professional sports careers
    •    Early development of sports habits 
    •    Managing recreational sports communities and clubs 
    •    Financial challenges and opportunities for recreational sports 
    •    Organizing sports events to promote a healthy lifestyle 
    •    The media image of sports as a lifestyle 
    •    The impact of social media on promoting an active lifestyle
    •    The educational role of media in promoting sports for all age groups
    •    Sport for everyone, regardless of age, gender, or physical ability 
    •    Sport as a tool for building global communities
    Time Frame
    •    Abstracts submission: March 1, 2025
    •    Final date of submission of papers: April 15, 2025
    •    Thematic Issue is to be finalized by mid-2025
    The papers should be between 6,000 and 8,000 words. Submissions should be made electronically to Guest Editors email addresses: akos@mev.hr ; thublin@mev.hr or smb@fzs.edu.rs 
    Manuscripts should be prepared in accordance with the SMB’s Author Guidelines (https://smb.edu.rs/index.php/smb/Authors_guidelines).

    PhD Andrijana Kos Kavran is a Professor of professional studies at Međimurje University of Applied Sciences in Čakovec, Croatia. She holds a PhD from the University of Rijeka, Faculty of Economics and Business, and specializes in marketing management, particularly in tourism, digital marketing, and sports marketing. As an experienced educator, she delivers undergraduate and graduate-level lectures and mentors numerous students. Andrijana is also the author and co-author of numerous scientific publications and has contributed to multiple research projects. In addition to her academic work, she has professional experience in public relations, marketing, and digital content creation and serves as a PR and Marketing Manager in an IT company. Her work reflects a strong blend of academic insight and practical expertise.

    PhD Tomislav Hublin is a Senior Lecturer at the Međimurje University of Applied Sciences in Čakovec, Croatia, where he teaches kinesiology courses. He actively participates in sports-related projects at the city and regional levels, contributing to the development of sports education and recreation. He pursued his passion for sports and kinesiology at the Faculty of Kinesiology, University of Zagreb, graduating in 2008 as a professor of kinesiology with a specialization in tennis. In 2023, he earned his PhD from the Faculty of Kinesiology at the University of Zagreb, with a research focus on tennis methodology and kinesiology training. Since 2008, Tomislav has worked as a tennis coach at Franjo Punčec Tennis Club in Čakovec, where he has trained numerous athletes to national championship titles. His most notable coaching achievement is with Antonia Ružić, who won the European Masters under 16 and the European Championship in the under-18 junior category. Tomislav is the author of numerous scientific papers focusing on kinesiology, tennis training methodology, and anthropometric research. His work combines practical coaching expertise with academic knowledge, significantly contributing to the advancement of sports science and education.
